But these extras might be for naught if the gameplay speed isn't fixed. Let's hope the final version isn't so frightfully slow. I Don't let that score lead you into thinking I didn't like this game as much as I did. Darkstalkers 3 is one of the top 2D fighters to come out for the PlayStation, rectifying the horrid version of the original Darkstalkers that was dumped on us earlier.

The action is fast and controls are as they should be. Darkstalkers is one of those games that needs outrageous animation, and although there is quite a bit intact, it loses much of its punch with the larger characters. That said, the overall colors are very rich and take full advantage of the large palette. The music is haunting and in line with what we've been accustomed to from the earlier installments of the series.
